Get to Street View in Google Maps

To get Street View photos, you can search for a place, drop a pin, tap on a place marker, or use the Street View layer.

Explore Street View

  • To look around in Street View, drag your finger on the screen or tap the compass.
  • To move, tap the arrows or double-tap the image in the direction you want to go.
  • To see a wider view and change to landscape mode, turn your device sideways.
  • To zoom in, pinch open on the screen.
  • To zoom out, pinch closed on the screen.

Explore Split-Screen Street View

Switch from a full-screen Street View image, to a split-screen view that also displays a small map.

  • On the Street View image, at the bottom right, tap the Split-screen arrows . The split-screen view displays a small map at the bottom of the screen
    • To zoom in a map, pinch open on the screen. To zoom out, pinch closed on the screen.
    • If you select any named point of interest on the smaller map, the map re-centers immediately and new imagery loads for the best view of that place.
    • If you tap any blue line on the smaller map, the map re-centers immediately.
